I was going to interject with a "Comair gets to wear red shirts" gag, but Clamp beat me to it.

Either way, those planes are partly full of Delta, or former Delta passengers.

We should start a pool on what metal and frequency Delta will have on that route in a year. I'll bet my ALPA dues refund it's less than we do now.
Spot on. If we draw down this route it will prove again the direction and intentions of our management. Our new contract keeps getting better and better. What's next?

I just returned off long term mil leave and I'm able to participate in this AE but I have a few questions: Are the AE preferences processed before the VDs? Would it be smart to put the same category/base as my AE preference and my VD? Just a little confused with how the surpluses and vacancies are related.
Thanks.

C'mon dalad. It was funny...a little bit. ESPN has been running a commercial with a similar theme for months now. The flying public doesn't care. If we can get them to actually watch the video, that's a win. I, for one, am glad we're looking to change the tired perception that airline employees can't have some fun.

Do NOT put in a Voluntary Displacement bid!!
You are already afforded a one-time "go anywhere your seniority can hold" when you returned from mil leave-- presumably you chose what you wanted? Now DON'T mess it up by volunteering to leave! For your MANDATORY displacement choices, put as #1 your presumably current position you cherry picked on MLOA return, then put in order the next best positions you want. Only way you will move from your MLOA return spot is if you get displaced out the bottom, or you volunteer to move. A "VD" is this: is ANYONE at your base/equip junior to you is forced to move, that is gets displaced, YOU will volunteer to take their crap deal instead of them. This is only used as a tactical "I really want to move out of my current spot and into THAT category, but nothing ever opens up in THAT category, so I'm putting in a VD to give me the ability to "displace" into it".

So remember, if you are senior to 10,300 or so, be sure to fill out both your MD and VD with something you can hold with good seniority, say NYC MD88. If junior to that, recommend you stay put
