Aren't they worried about Delta becoming the underpaid, overworked regional airline, existing to use our cheap labor to fill their 777s and 787s?
The concern is not over foreign carriers (except for cabotage which is a different threat), but more for the concern of a foreign investor being able to own a controlling interest in a US airline. There are many reasons why we should fear this. A few off the top of mind:

-a foreign owner/government may not be compelled to honor our labor laws/contracts
-a foreign owner/government may dismantle our operations and replace it with cheaper labor, crappy mx, etc
-national security is considerably impacted as our CRAF response would be dictated by a foreign owner/government

This is scary stuff and has nothing to do with ALPA or dues money.

It would have fixed the problem...they are worthless anyway except for the scrap.

Ukraine? You're doing it wrong. The ones that want to talk to me apparently live 2.3 miles away!

The real answer is that the jobs are not nearly as good as what is posted here and work conditions are in general horrible. There are some good expat jobs but they are not the norm.

The fact is they pay great because it's not as desireable. Only a few people will move half way around the world for a job. It's really not much more complicated than that.

Bingo! The scenario exists in the Cruise industry. Carnival Cruise Lines is a US company that hardly pays any US taxes. All most all their Captains are Italians and their ship board "help" are majority from the Philippines. Their boats are registered in other countries too.

Airlines, like GOL, are a threat to the Delta Pilots. Last I heard, the pay/workrules at GOL were atrocious.

Ok good, then it's not just me. I wasn't supprised to see the side bar ads from Delta, Lund and Bike Nashbar, but wasn't sure where this other stuff came from. While the Ukrainian woman are closer to my age, the ad generator must think that Philipinos are more to my taste.

If we channel Jesse, maybe we can get Costa Rica surf school, Asian singles, Ukranian singles, Philipine singles and any other good ones to all move 2.8 miles from each of us. Whaddaya say?

Or, we can go work for Emirates and they will all live in the same highrise as we do...

The vast majority of foreign airlines do not pay great. There are a select few. The rest are crap. Just like in the US the crap airlines are killing the legacies. The exception is some mid and Far East airlines. Look carefully however at their scheduling practices. 22 days away from home can be the norm.
