ALPA could have used the public outcry during the aftermath of the Buffalo crash to fix this problem and had legislation enacted to make it mandatory that regionals disclose that they are not mainline. Unfortunately our "union" represents those same folks and it would be a conflict for them to do so.
Meh. Meh. Meh.

But ALPA didn't "say" that.
The total efficiencies granted to the company were in the 125-150 neighborhood after adding in the work rule gains, NOT 270.
Your math is off by about double, but yes the ability to 'not fill' 150 seats *could be* a reduction in roughly 2 pilots in each each category not adding to pilot costs on the companies' bottom line.
1% in payrates is roughly $23m/year.

Pilots are leaving and soon it will be mandatory, we're at least 12 months away from hiring. Call me crazy, but I think that the ALV increase will allow the company to wait even longer before they have to hire.
I overheard a conversation recently, although I smirked and wanted to discount it as just purely speculative, I wanted to share:
"Delta wants to shift (in the future) the 747-400s to dedicated cargo airplanes"
This is what I heard. Rumor, BS, fact, etc.? You decide

Every time I read about our new benefits, I get ****ed off. Did anyone else read that the 2014 Gold plan is only going to provide $1000 per family instead of the current $1500. You then get to jump through hoops to get up to $600 more. The hoops you have to jump through are to me none of Delta's business. I feel they are personal decisions that Delta should have no part in. Does anyone have any experience with the diamond HSA or DPMP? I am strongly considering the DPMP option.

I was tempted with the DPMP (closest to the leaving PPO) however DIAMOND is better for my family.
