I just finished quarterly cq, so I won't quote/readback your semantically correct post simply to continue my poor engrish vagueness. I'll just say roger and bow to the correctness of Denny Crane. I need a cognac.

Exalted one, please "enlighten us" with your view and understanding of this industry.

Ask Sgt. Dakota Meyer (most recent Medal of Honor recipient) about disobeying orders. Or better yet, ask the 36 he saved by doing so.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as happy as the next guy to be here, but lets get off the "soap box" about this being the best place in the world and there's nothing more we need from the company. IMHO, setting us up for "failure" (see above) for our upcoming contract negotiations in 2014.

First off - you don't seem happy with Delta. You seem disenfranchised. I'm sure the same level of disgust with their employer led SWA to be the highest paid 737 pilots in the country. Please, for all our sake, continue spreading your displeasure.

I've worked under the industry's most popular contract in terms of "lowering the bar" for the Regional industry. My own personal credentials wouldn't impress you - on an anonymous web board anyway, where credibility is determined solely by corroboration and like minded-ness. Please enlighten me as to how you came across your credentials to become a successful Delta candidate. Did your previous tenure involve disobeying orders? Didn't think so. Your level of entitlement leads me to believe you served in a peacetime military and flew training sorties with fake bombs on VFR days with little collateral risk besides your own ego. You probably also had an assortment of squadron mates to recommend you for the job. Historical performance in training from your generation has since led to the dissolution of nearly all past hiring practices. If that doesn't tell you something, I'm not surprised.

Looks to me like Sgt. Meyer was just doing his job. Your job today is described in our manual system and the PWA, as well as the myriad of Delta policy manuals - one of which states the posting of sensitive company information in a public forum or in "social media" is prohibited. I honestly doubt you'll be awarded any more medals though. Unless you go back to serve your country again. I'm sure you're very brave, and a great shot.

As a result of my "industry experience" I clearly understand what our PWA is, what it was, what it was both sides pre-merger, and what it will be. I can see the five year plan for this airline, the internal and external pressures we face as a pilot group, the economic factors that dictate our compensation, and what the true globalization of our industry means for us both now, and over the duration of our careers. In effect, granted that I'm near positive you're far senior to me, my career expectations are tempered by the realities of the world not present when you were a new hire. No airline career is easy. But I'm sure glad your life has been so challenge free. I instead prefer my own reality - not the one that the vocal minority has created out of greed and an incomplete view of our industry.

Anything else you'd like to add?

Yes. If to make a point, you have to refer to a Medal of Honor recipient as "just doing his job," consider the possibility that you aren't really making the point you want to make.

This LCA thing, did anybody consider that the company might be checking to see just how much chain they have to jerk... It's OK to be paranoid if they are really after you.

None the less, I agree with your point.

Those who have stagnated at the bottom, some of whom are considering looking elsewhere for employment (despite the fact Delta is a wonderful place to be) are desperate for any good news. That is how their priorities get screwed up. I don't condone Fartbox's antagonism on the subject, but with yet another displacement coming up, I sure do understand it.
I have not suggested pilots quit. I predict the next bid will have more Captain vacancies than displacements. Want to bet on that?

That would be welcome news. It will be even more welcome if it does not involve an exodus to or from the "colonies"
