That mindset is a bit disturbing.
It is particularly humorous watching them screw themselves into the ceiling when you do criticize ALPA.

I just like going into big crew rooms like ATL JFK etc, and changing the TV from Fixed news to Rachel Maddow, talk about clearing some room on the seniority list, man it is comical how some of those guys get wound up and start huffing and spitting trying to find the remote ..... that umm,,, umm was misplaced!!

2) they had jets they wanted but couldn't have because of us...

3) and they had these unwanted jets drop in their lap by a major competitor who never wanted them and were so desperate to get rid of them that they'd pay us to take them...

Ya'll all agree on those fundamentals?

Now you could believe that in order to afford the 717 we had to get rid of CRJ-200s but in order to do that we had to convince Bombardier to take them back and the only way to do that was to take CRJ-900s in exchange. That's fine. I hope you're right.

Or,

Like me, you sadly believe the company decided (smartly) to arouse us with 717s (all pure growth) in order to get us to swallow something we don't like (allowing more jumbo RJs). Toss in the idea of shrinking DCI to raise arousal, but, it seems that was happening without the TA anyways.

It's, um... unfortunately... a lot like this... How Female Arousal Overrides Their Disgust During Sex: Study

And we did it.

So all we have now is the hope that the new jumbo RJs that we ceded to the company come in exchange for mainline airframe growth even though that's no longer required. And sure those of us who said no to the TA could shut up and move on and forget about what happened with scope, but, some of us feel that we need to continue to raise awareness that the precedence and safeguards we set are insufficient if not unfavorable to us and we should not agree to anything like it again.

That's my two cents.
Very well said. Everybody knows I have said this many times before but pilots should never give away work rules (especially those that reduce QOL and/or reduce the need for warm bodies). You never get them back. Very short sighted and our union should be more strategic than they have been these past 10 years.

80, when I was hired in 2010, I was assigned a mentor, and was glad to have that contact; however I ended up using the Captain I was training with on the Airbus to give me advice on what to do.

Besides that, we were required to meet with a chief pilot once per quarter.

80K, that was great! Thanks for the laughs, but it made my wife cry. She heard my laughing and started looking over my shoulder...right at the end.

I had to re-wind to show her the first part, because all our (3) dogs do all that stuff, especially eating her cat's poop, barfing it up, eating it again, then puking it up on the bed.

Too funny, I'm going to send that to two of my kids who are at Auburn, with their 2 dogs, who also do all that stuff, especially rolling in horse poop.

Not even close to what I said, initmated, or inferred......but don't let that get in the way of trying to take a cheap shot.

If you "never get work rules back"..... How did we get them in the first place?
