Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Trying to figure out how to say it without outing myself. AE out next month, 330, 744, 739. Another AE out in Jan? That one to cover the remaining MD-90's, the initial 717's, and more 739's. Hiring is quite possible, capacity neutral til summer, then growth aircraft. Looking at more 717's, some in the desert right now. DC-9's now staying til 2014, possibly longer. 1.7 billion profit this year, annual interest expense down by 500 million per year. By looking west think SEA growth and SA, we need to get bigger there. Electronic flight bag to be introduced to the 717 as it comes on line with rest of fleet to follow. Company is going to purchase 60,000 Windows based tablets, Steven Ballmer himself pitched them to RA. Everything from training to cockpit access to wifi for real time info. If I think of more I'll post it. Most important thing said was "what you didn't hear is more important than what you did".
That all sounds GREAT!

You mean in our non-hub hub?

Most of that tracks with what I have been hearing. No all, but most.

The 5500 series 757's are going to start going to the desert. I was hoping they would need them. When I have time I will post my take. Many balls in the air, think HA, ALK, and JBLU. Looking at overflying NRT.

Overflying NRT has several implications, some good, and some not so good. If is because NRT loses relevance due to not getting HND access we lose a substantial part of our Japan presence and all your previous AE prognostications go the other direction. If its in addition to that's a good thing.

I think if you've read the real life experiences of many reserve pilots on this thread you'd have to agree that most of what I wrote is irrefutably true. Have you sat reserve since the new system went into effect, and thus speak from experience? If you have, maybe your category works out differently, which is good for you. Unfortunately, that's not the case for ATL M88 A & B. There are probably others that experience similar results. As for the schedulers putting pilots on SC just because they can; well, that is just my opinion, and I have no proof of it. But again, it's not against the PWA for them to do exactly that. And maybe it's been taken down a notch from the summer months. I don't know; I got a line for Sep so hopefully they're not going crazy on the overkill of SC like they were since the third week of June. From your response to my post I get the impression that it offends you that I should point out something DALPA instituted isn't as great as it was supposed to be in theory. Just my impression....could be wrong.
But I came back with a year of data. My category avg 4 res req total, they averaged 12 a day on SC. They had only used a single SC pilot a couple times in a year. The only green slips were due to equipment subs and Whitlow, plenty of people on the hook, but not legal.
He then uttered those famous words "because we can".
I doubt the thought process has changed.
