Also, word from the school house is that we are "retiring" 50 A-319's over the next three years as they "time out".

Where is the "growth"??

I think hiring totally depends on the economy. We could hire 1000 pilots in the next two years or 0. It totally depends on what the all knowing Network terds decide to do.
Somebody please explain this kind of mentality to me. This guy is complaining about growth, or lack thereof. But THEN.. he acknowledges that the economy is the driving factor behind those decisions... and THEN he goes on to call the people that are making those decisions "terds". Really?

Nice, class move. Pathetic.

Moderators, are we using names now?
Oh yes. If you have a differing opinion, the mob mentality kicks in and they will be condescending and insult you. It's easier than staying civil.

They did get a heads up that flows would happen by the end of the year, if that changed wouldn't they stop hiring?
It doesn't really cost Compass anything additional to interview and put someone in the pool.

It costs them the price of an airline ticket and a hotel room. The HR and pilot interviewers are getting paid regardless if they interview 0 or 40 in a day.

They will have to spend that money eventually, so wether or not they spend the money on the plane ticket and hotel now as opposed to 6 months to a year from now is not really a big deal.

As for being in constant contact, I doubt it, Delta will tell Compass what they want, when they want it.

Yes they are actively recruiting at job fairs and interviewing. I talked with an HR rep a while back and she stated the goal was to have 100 in the pool. This was back in April. It sounds like it has been real slow going in getting the pool filled.

It sounded like they were having trouble finding folks with 1500hrs. Also the computer tests they give (Job Knowledge, COG, and Personality) had about 50% pass rate. The big issue with some potential people is that the company still doesn't pay for a hotel in initial training.

Weren't quite a few on here stating that the new TA wouldn't generate new jobs. This latest SEC filing states that the new PWA was critical to accomplishing the refleeting that's creating a net plus of 66 aircraft for the mainline. Others were on here lambasting a T&G that stated that we would increase staffing by about 1000 with this PWA.

Glad to see the growth. Appreciate the hard work so many of our fellow pilots put in knocking down the misinformation campaign during the TA ratification.
You do realize the vote is over? No need to keep selling the TA.

If you want SWA's, you have to want their work rules and all that goes with it.. and if you want that...
