Word from the Management road shows is no hiring until late 2013 early 2014.
Also, word from the school house is that we are "retiring" 50 A-319's over the next three years as they "time out".
Where is the "growth"??
I think hiring totally depends on the economy. We could hire 1000 pilots in the next two years or 0. It totally depends on what the all knowing Network terds decide to do.

Nice, class move. Pathetic.
Moderators, are we using names now?
Oh yes. If you have a differing opinion, the mob mentality kicks in and they will be condescending and insult you. It's easier than staying civil.

Something that is interesting to me is that Compass has 45 poolies currently with the goal of 100 by years end. If Delta wasnt planning on taking flows why would they be hiring so much? One would think both Management teams would be in constant contact about the flows. I doubt Compass would want to waste their time hiring everyone for nothing. They did get a heads up that flows would happen by the end of the year, if that changed wouldn't they stop hiring?
It costs them the price of an airline ticket and a hotel room. The HR and pilot interviewers are getting paid regardless if they interview 0 or 40 in a day.
They will have to spend that money eventually, so wether or not they spend the money on the plane ticket and hotel now as opposed to 6 months to a year from now is not really a big deal.
As for being in constant contact, I doubt it, Delta will tell Compass what they want, when they want it.

It sounded like they were having trouble finding folks with 1500hrs. Also the computer tests they give (Job Knowledge, COG, and Personality) had about 50% pass rate. The big issue with some potential people is that the company still doesn't pay for a hotel in initial training.

Great news, particularly since it's an SEC filing, which carries criminal sanctions if intentionally misleading.
Weren't quite a few on here stating that the new TA wouldn't generate new jobs. This latest SEC filing states that the new PWA was critical to accomplishing the refleeting that's creating a net plus of 66 aircraft for the mainline. Others were on here lambasting a T&G that stated that we would increase staffing by about 1000 with this PWA.
Glad to see the growth. Appreciate the hard work so many of our fellow pilots put in knocking down the misinformation campaign during the TA ratification.
