Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
It still doesn't make his statement not downright stupid. All the early outs have gone to the same age range, so 300 would be better than 191. As per your example, this "bump" will evaporate over 3-5 years... and to top it off, they didn't backfill beyond one layer either.
My seniority number has gone up, but I'm more junior than I was in 2008.

Its all relative to how long you have been here. 27 years is a long time to be around and still not even be down to the number you were hired at. Also, moving down on equipment is no fun as well, but that is life. You may not realize it, but we are a shrinking airline and will be for sometime into the future. I hope you face better circumstances when you hit your 27 year mark, you never know what the next hurdle is in this business.

Good analysis. And that's just for a start.
I've been burned over, and over, and over by interpretations on what a proposed change might yield in catual results. I've come to prefer language that does what I hope for, vs. language that sounds like it might work for me, depending on who is interpreting.
It's a post-racial world out there. I'm comfortable with black-and-white cohabitating, especially in contractual language.

There is a lot more at stake but this was just off the top of my head. It will be one of the biggest LOA's we have seen since LOA 46/51
