Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
scoop, there is a big difference between reg and reserve. Regular pays what you fly, fly 0, get paid 0. Fly 72 get paid 72. Reserve pays 72ish regardless of whether you fly 0 or 72, unless you fly more.
you also can only bid days off, you cannot select trips. that is a major difference.
now if you want to apply the same bucket system to lines then what you do is pay ALV no matter how little you work in seniority order. Top pilots can bid 0 if they so chose and will be paid ALV. Everyone gets ALV except those who fly above.
Ideally 5 maybe 10% fly 0, 10-15% fly 30, 15-20% fly 45, 20 and on fly ALV.
now there is a fix to this and i believe the company will implement it. i seriously doubt they want to pay reserve pilots for only flying 0-20 hours a month on 3 or so days of work. the simple fix is reduce the number of pilots on reserve, award more lines at the bare minimum hours. makes the discussion a moo point, but for anyone sitting senior reserve in the old system and new, QOL did not change on lc, it did on sc right up until they went to putting almost every pilot on sc every day. theyll be happy when they have 7 sc's to work with.

I dont think the company is going to implement what you mentioned. They limit Reduced lower limit lines to a certain seniority percentage in category - thereby requiring more reserves. This was changed in the new contract.
Additionally an "unblockable" pilot can request a RLL or be subject to being on call.
The new change neither helps the company nor the junior in category - and frankly I dont understand who asked for it for this reason.

When I came back I was right at the limit, including periods that were exempt. I had all my documentation available to make sure they couldn't refuse my request for re-employment. When I made the request, no one even asked the question. I wouldn't count on them ignoring it, but in my case they didn't seem to really care how long I had been gone. I did get some retirement money when I got back. Don't remember exactly how much, but I do remember it was a lot less than I'd hoped it would be. Oh, and after 7 years on either furlough or mil leave, the only thing I could hold a line on was the same seat I left from.
I talked with the ALPA R&I specialist about it and received a detailed explanation of what I received...I guess I just expected more out of wishful thinking.
hey Guys,
One of my non-dependent kids just traveled Atl/Sea on a 3B yield fare , round trip. She missed the return leg, and when I went to the travelnet to re-book her return leg, The entire record locator had been removed.
I had to pay another yield fare to book her return leg, and I can find NO way to apply for a refund on the original return leg. I have been to the travel history page, and everywhere else I can think of....no luck.
ESC is closed on the weekend.......any ideas, or info would be appreciated .
Thanks,
BG

It's courteous to return the salute; expected, but I don't fault someone for not being a patriot or professional if they fail to salute back due to possible circumstances. For example, generals get saluted like it's going out of style. In a typical day they probably miss returning 10% of the salutes rendered them. So I don't fault BHO for not returning a salute, and that's from a guy who thinks he's got a ton of faults.

I'm just thinking there seems to be an interest in getting the avg reserve hours up from 45 to closer to the pbs hiring requirement. i mean sure youre limited on the international ops by its nature and the need to never risk a cancelled flight due to crews. But on the domestic side i doubt zero hour reserve is acceptable and with the buckets that can happen. or put it this way, a 777 reserve pilot is worth their pay even if they dont fly just to be available if needed, i dont think i am worth my pay to them if i dont fly.
i just think their play will be more sc and fewer reserves with low alvs. thats way its a moo point but still i will argue we should hve only focused on sc and pcs improvements and not lc buckets where seniority was already honored.

20 minutes into tonight's contest and it appears as though Alabama has the sec wrapped up. Gonna be a tough game against Barkley and company, however.
