So where's the big announcement? I thought we would hear it on the 15th, since we didn't then wasn't it supposed to be along with the earnings or right after? Anyone??

Very astute and interesting question.

If you go to some of the online ticket clearinghouses, often you will find that a delta ticket is in the neighborhood of $100 less expensive than anyone else. Assuming everyone is charging the same for oversized/extra bags, that removes the allegiant pricing model as our pricing model. My hope is that there is a strategic pricing program at play which robs loads from other carriers and makes there lives difficult. If that is not the case then we are giving our seats away too cheap and we have a bunch of bozos in revenue management. It is possible that a little of both is at play.

I think the delays have FAR exceeded what was caused by the strike. Hopefully they can't use it to worm their way out of their obligations.

Unfortunately for the transportation industry we have entered into a new paradigm when it comes to economic expansion and commodity prices. Companies, hedge funds, and individual investors now drive up commodity (ie oil, fuel) prices any time the economy looks like it might be on the rebound. When it actually happens oil is sure to go north of $100 which could stave off any economic recovery at least for our industry.
