Quick question for any retired folks. Is there any need/benefit to getting a retired ID card? Thanks.

Reserve stuff-
The last two months scheduling has been assigning a late short call. Usually it starts at 7:30pm and runs to 7:30am. It's a smart way to cover the last bank during t-storm season. My problem with it is we are not allowed per our contract to do a continuous duty overnight. Ive been assigned many of these over the summer and didn't really care until this last week. It's not a true cdo.
The days prior to this assignment consisted of early am short call with some assignments then a late show switching my body clock. While sitting on this late pm short call I was notified at 10pm of a 6am report. That's a 4am wakeup call for me. Normally not a bad thing but the switching from am to pm to am ect... all week had taken its toll. Plus my raw is 160, I'm pooped.
I know I'm whining, I'm a line holder that chose to bid reserve. Does anyone see this as a way to assign us a reserve twist on continious duty overnights?
Ps. My letter to lahood was bounced back too. My save LAX letter was bumped off the flight because it was on a horizon rj, oops Skywest rj , dba Alaska, feeding delta, but was over gross.....jumpseater left at the gate.

It's even worse on the 7ER when you are on SC for 24 hours and are on the hook for pretty much everything and anything. A couple years ago I got something crazy like this (4am show in LGA after doing all trans Atlantic redeyes). I told them I was waaay to tired and only got 4 hours of sleep due to the ping ping ball that was my body clock. Unfortunately, most of us (myself included) just suck it up and get the job done. Fatigue out, blame it on them, and maybe they will change their ways....

I feel your pain. I was on the ER before the merger. I will talk to some ALPA bubbas to try and put some body clock thought into these assignments.
