A; That was DB cooper parachuting out of a 727.

B; That was the new Chinese aircraft carrier during pilot carrier quals.

C; That wasn't a harrier, it was an emb-145.

D; The A-4 gate in atlanta has a very slow jetway.

E; Sure, why not, but that was a predator in the early manned takeoff mode.

1/. "On purpose"? In a manner of speaking, controlled ejection due to inability to safely land it. I believe dual hydraulic failure with engine out. Early Escapac seat, pretty high chance of injuries. My ejection sequence seemed about 10x faster, might be slw mo.

2/ No, I think correctly loaded, cold shot off the bow cat.

3/ A-4 started roll/yaw coupling and headed toward Earth. Out of the envelope to leave with the seat.

4/ Not sure of the gravesite.

5/ That wouldn't be the first time a carrier was "attacked" by a recently una**ed plane. Usually splashes near ship, but flight deck evacuated.

I didn't take it as a jab at all. Just about everything on here is all in fun.

Actually, number 2 after the A-10 is the "Sabre Dance". It is the F-100 that invented the phrase "behind the power curve." Like all Century series fighters, the power required went up dramatically when below max l/d speed. In fact, you ran out of power before you stalled. That airplane got slow on final and the pilot went to full power. Even then the plane was still behind the power curve and airspeed continued to decay. In the end, he was partially riding the lift produced by the thrust pointed downward by the high AOA. Eventually that could not be controlled either.

Never get slow in a T-38, don't pull the power until you are ready to touch down.

I don't believe Brazil has approved us to fly a plane that size down there yet.

That is correct. They wanted to, but the request was denied.
