But here's a piece of free advice. (Worth what you paid for it, I know) When you go to college, get a degree in something totally unrelated to aviation. IMHO, ERAU is a total waste of time and money. Take it for what it is worth.

( I have an architecture degree, and furlough was never a real big concern because I could always find a job doing something else)

Oh, and three other words to think about: Air National Guard. Look into it.
What was your final like at Tennessee? Take two single wides and a roll of duct tape and turn em into a double wide???

Bad day when you come to the airport and every 6 cyl airplane at the airport is sitting on its tail and the cowlings are missing. The air boat crowd can't use the propellers and I've seen $20,000 props tossed in the ditch.
Last time that happened around here, the perps left the wiring neat, all the accessories intact, and left the props properly supported like they were doing an engine swap.

I guess their thinking was if you don't tear the field up when stealing a crop, the farmer will just cash the crop insurance check and plant another.

Worked out pretty well for a couple dudes near TBO.

This is exactly what I was coming on here this AM to post. If you want to go to ERAU, get a degree in business. Their MBA is does not have the highest certification, but people get hired with it all of the time. I would not get a meteorology degree, unless you wanna continue your studies at one of the top universities for an advanced meteorology degree. You need a good backup. Medicals are revoked and depending on where you are in your career at the time of the event, disability may not cover your basic needs.

Default Civil Engineering

People will always have to poop and cars aren't going away any time soon.

Upon quick glance at their website I see ERAU offers a CE degree. It's not a glamorous career field per se, but there are usually jobs available.
