Air Canada just went to arbitration with their pilots union, and won. How's about this for a contract:
In addition to lowered salaries (4th year FO on ANY aircraft makes just $67K/yr...which is not enough to live on in Canada when over half of that is taxed and the cost of living is very high), but scope is completely wiped out.
The new contract provides Air Canada with the ability to get rid of 60 A320s and 60 Embraer 190s. The purpose of this is so they can send the aircraft to their new OFFSHORE BASED (yes thats right) Low Cost Carrier. You fellas think the scope erosion on the Delta TA was bad?...

Tomorrow I start my 12th straight day of flying. All trips with strategic 24 hour breaks sprinkled in. Reserve with no yellow slip activated. I'm already over 60 hours credit with 10 days to go. CS said to expect the reign of terror for the rest of the month. We are out of pilots in my category. After my 3 day I'll be at 14 days straight flying with no end in sight. I've never worked this hard in an airplane before. My guess is 110 credit on reserve when they're through having their way with me.
Bring on the new hires before this place starts melting down further!!

Looking at the contract implementation schedule ALV+15 doesn't start until Dec., so they cannot take you over ALV without a YS. You can request to be shown full at ALV-2 and enjoy a few extra days off--or you can YS and go for the money. Maybe a good time to explore rolling some thunder.
