Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Our seniority is based on pilots inserted on the list that will never operate as pilots on that list. They retired before we all worked as one. In other words, all the pilots pulled and plugged, retired, so their pull was never plugged. AKA, we got no advantage from the P&P.
Not complaining, just explaining.

Let me back up Carl and say it another way.

The seniority list was also based on XX amount of Whales but the 200's will never operate after SOC either - bad news for all pilots. If the PRIP program targeted the 747-200 guys its a wash. Does the 200s going away affect pilots - yes it negatively affects all pilots North and South - but it is done, lets look forward. Hell lets have a PRIP round two, and three, etc...

Has the dead horse been beaten enough yet?
Capn,
You are right, assuming all the PIRP pilots are part of the 270 pull and plug, they will not operate under our list. BUT the whole point of the pull and plug was to account for future attrition on the fNWA side. In my book, this PIRP is "future attrition." (Albiet a little earlier than was expected) This is exactly what the arbitrators were accounting for in their decision. Those 270 were pulled, all fNWA guys moved up (to a certain amount depending on their seniority), the lists were merged and then they were re-inerted. My question is....How does 270 pilots retiring (PIRP and regular retirements) after this was done negate this "advantage." To negate the advantage you would have to go back and redo the list without the pull and plug. To my way of thinking, 215 guys taking early retirement helps everybody (one of those win/win situations)!!

CVG,
I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, you are right, it doesn't matter now. I'm just trying to understand why Carl and Capn think the way they do and offer a different perspective. If the conversation degenerates (and I hope it does not!), I will cease and desist!

Capn,
I just wanted to add that the advantage for attrition to fNWA guys came when the 270 were pulled not when they were plugged. Thanks for the civil discussion.

In other news on the 40th anniversary of an American's first steps on our Moon, other Americans were repairing the toilet on the space shuttle.
While Neil Armstrong's mission was important to all of humanity, I imagine the crew of the Endeavor is pretty "interested" in this repair:
The commode — one of three on the linked station and shuttle Endeavour — stopped working Sunday after a pump separator flooded. It was out of action for about 24 hours.
NASA wanted the station commode working again as soon as possible. With a record number of people on board — 13 — having a working toilet is crucial.

So not to change the subject or anything, but how about that 100 seat jet? Any idea when DAL will actually commit?
