Wait, I thought PIRP was a new breath mint the FA's were passing out in first class.
Seriously though, a real next battle is with our uniforms.
The fNWA FA's have their fight ahead to red dress qualify up to the "Oprah Winfrey Comfort Fit", and we need to see something with an elastic waist band by the next contract or there's gonna be a war.

I took him and his family to OMA late last year. Semmed like a nice guy wearing a Hawain shirt and shorts sat in coach while seats up front went empty.

However, everyone does know he's coming. Sort of like flying with the generals...and they polished the nacelles only on the left side.

RA was on one of my flights to OMA and of course all the gate agents made sure we knew he was coming and if they could board early. He did not stop by to say hello though. Guess we know where compass stands.
When I was plumbing on the 72 in SLC, Nella Nor was on the jet doing a photo op when the crusty old NE Captain was walking down the jetway. The captain was just being told about that Ron was "cleaning the lav" when he said "Wow, they finally found a job he could do!" ... and of course out pops Ron from the forward lav.
The credit for future advancement (pull and plug) is the only thing that was given to the DAL-N side. Many on this board said that it would take forever for those 270+ guys to actually retire because of age 65, and the fact that nobody in their right minds would want to retire from the new Delta. One PRIP later (plus the normal retirements we've had), and all 270 are gone. Before SOC. And as such, the only advantage given to the DAL-N pilots is now gone. (I haven't learned how to do the quote thing so cut and paste is it!)
Carl,
The pull and plug was done prior to the PIRP and all fNWA got a boost(depending on their seniority) on the original merged seniority list. To my way of thinking a PIRP, or any retirement, does not negate the numbers that were already assigned to account for said attrition. Nobodys position on the list is changing relative to some one else on the list.
I'm not explaining myself very well. I'll try a different tack! I don't see how the "advantage" given to the fNWA guys for attrition is negated by the PIRP. The "advantage" was applied by the arbitrators for the merged seniority list and fNWA guys got a boost in seniority then. Just because there is a PIRP does not negate the "advantage" given for future attrition in the original merged list. In my mind, to negate that advantage, you would have to redo the merged seniority list and we all know that ain't ever gonna happen!!
Carl, hopefully you can see what I'm trying to say in the mess above! I'm not trying to make anyone mad, just trying to understand and give a different perspective.
