LBP isn't the cure for what ails us, airframes are. In fact, LBP is a sure-fire way to make... shrinkeage more painful.

Why do you guys not see that the companies want such a scheme, but are too timid to ask for it outright? They ask for pay banding, thinking we'd never go for something as outrageous as LBP.
"Airframes are"... and here's the $64,000 question. Who buys airframes? I'll give you a hint. It is not pilots.

Incentivize? really? We are a seniority based system. There is no "incentive" unless you consider forfeiting your quality of life for money an incentive. Frankly, if that is where we want to be, that is pretty pathetic.

We push throttles. Management buys airplanes. Pay me for flying whatever it is they buy. period.

Based on his first few posts, he strikes me as one of these FNWA MSP based, always bitter, always complaining about how "Delta"'is screwing him, always talking about how everything NWA did was better than how "Delta" does it....basically complains about anything involving " Delta" type. Quite a joy to fly with. There's quite a few running around MSP.

The Minneaopolitans as we called them were quite a " joy" to fly with at NWA.....Something about the superiority of living at the "Master Base"...A syndrome not unique to NWA.

Quick question.

During the interview process does HR prefer hiring someone coming from AWA/AE/OO etc over someone coming from a smaller regional such as Great Lakes?

Don't think it matters, other than the 35%ers that are now required (but mostly covered by flows).

I noticed Delta did give bonus points to those who had operated multiple aircraft types. Go figure.

I'd say that, all things being equal, it doesn't matter one bit. Now of course, it depends if things are equal. The RJ carriers you mentioned will yield more jet time, while GL will (usually?) yield more turbine PIC, but in a smaller plane. But as long as the applicant has a good all around application with competitive times I can't see it mattering.

You could also do both (get some regional jet time and if no upgrade in sight, bail. Or start off with a quick small turboprop upgrade, get 1000, then bail, etc).
