That is a slow way to die.
Yep-I regularly do the food runs and get the double bacon, double meat special. Never been turned down yet.
I love the Atkins guys also-last trip the rather robust CA ate a huge 4 pound styrofoam box of teriyaki beef and chicken dripping in sauce saying, "It's helping me lose weight-see, no rice.".

Absolutely correct. An early out is an advance on future progression.

It's nice to have the job early, though, even if the next step is stagnation. Several years of longevity and stuck at bottom probably trumps several years at a marginal regional, at least for most people.

So it's more like a credit card that pays you interest on the money you borrow.

For the record, I am generally against expanding capital on early outs, except if I thought there was a high likelyhood of a merger.

Bill,

Isn't it bad luck to count your captain chickens before they hatch?

I'm amazed you can decipher what he's talking about. Not that there is a point in there anywhere.

You have to read with your glasses on that filter out excitement. You know to use those glasses when their "position" (717A??) is an airplane that hasn't been delivered yet.

Some people can't take a joke, and keep grudges forever. Move on son, move on. As far as the upgrade goes, you either can hold the position or not, and you can either fly it or not. If I get an upgrade and move to NY, and I pass, I'll make a lot more than now and I'll enjoy it. You can continue to be a cranky jerk if you want to, I don't care.

I had hoped that this contract would cover hotel costs for new hires in initial flight training, but I don't think it was addressed. It was one of my comments in the contract survey. They're cash-strapped as it is, and just because we had to do it doesn't make it right, or not worth changing, and yes I would be willing to give something up for that.
I'd hoped for it too, even my last regional airline payed for single occupancy hotel rooms for us throughout the whole training process. I had figured Delta would do the same. I think it's just one of those issues that has never been addressed and a lot of the people I fly with don't even know about it.

Also I'm throwing some money on a MCO base for the 717. How senior will it go?

2500-5000 for A's, 7500-10000 for B's. All 5 day trips. Max overnight 12 hours. Some people really love Mickey.
