I don't expect any flush whatsoever from the work rule changes, which for the most part don't begin until next summer. The ALV/TLV change is mostly offset by other enhancements in the contract. Then you have to calculate the training inefficiencies as Delta brings more MD90 on board as well as 737-900ERs and 717s. I expect, as the mainline grows, due to increased flying for mainline pilots within the Delta brand, that we'll see more upward mobility for the bottom half of the list, particularly if the slack is taken out of the system through this early out program.
Whatever the 717's are all going to DFW!!!
And 550 pilots rejoice!!!!
And 550 pilots rejoice!!!!
Between working pro live sound and the 737, I couldn't take that amount of hearing fatigue.
Plus I like to be able to sit with my legs crossed lady like while the tail falls off.
You know, there really are no stupid questions.
Except this one. Flush is a term used for downward or outward movement. You will hear it used in conjuction with bump...ie: no bump, no flush.
Bump is where in a merger a pilot from one airline displaces a pilot from the other airline from the seat he was in.
Flush is where due to a number of reasons you are displaced from the aircraft you are on and or furloughed.
The terms are used primarily in a merger scenario, but could come into play in other scenarios. You have experienced it by being bounced around the bottom to typically lower paying equipment.

When trying to figure out where airplanes will go, it it worth considering the GDP trends in the potential hubs and feed networks. My bet is on NYC, LAX, ATL for capacity growth. The 717 might be used for back fill to fee up larger airplanes still serving Detroit. This chart also explains merger and acquisition activity to some extent. Larger demographic trends sealed the fate of Midwest, TWA & NWA, while providing symbiotic logic to the AWA / US & UCAL lashings. Based on this chart one can see why American was able to avoid bankruptcy for so long and what kind of competitor they might be coming out of the wash.
Alaska either has enjoyed the luck of being very well managed and locally loved, or has been fortunate to avoid real competition.

Hey sailing. The FAQ had not downloaded yet on my slow connection. The last post by me was referencing the fact that there was no preference button to click on. You need to click on your employee number to get to the preferences page. Besides, what real man reads directions? We all come here for a quick answer and some underboob.
