Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
By my calcs, it is 29:30. If he flies an extra 30 minutes, I believe the scheduler's programming will correct the 30/7 issue without any intervention by the scheduler. They used to just dead head the 30/7 pilot on one or two legs to cure the problem, but I'm not sure if that works now with some of our newer rules. As an MD-88B I once DH to CAE to fly one leg back to ATL. When the aircraft came in, I went up to the cockpit to make my nest. The FO said "Are you deadheading?" I said, "No you are." Scheduling hadn't told him he was a 30/7. He DH to ATL and then continued his rotation. Again, not sure if we can do that now.
Well, I've finally found a couple of references. With this new PWA, I've been contemplating bidding reserve (really junior reserve) on the 330 if I can hold it some time in the next year but don't want to go to Africa all the time. Since I'm a SEA guy and would not bid the 330 anywhere else, I wonder how often SEA reserves are called on to cover out of base Africa trips. I guess I could avoid it by not getting the theater qual. That is unless I got it on a TOE. DOH! Anyway, I'm just what if'n right now.
The best thing about bidding it is I might get to fly with Ferd!

Caption contest?
- The Negotiating Committee came back and said that's the absolute best we can do.
- In seconds, little Jimmy's dreams of being an NFL Left Tackle were dashed on the cruel dirt of the back yard.
- "Honey, remember five years ago when Wheels almost learned to walk?" "Sure I do. I was filming when it happened, remember?"
- That's why you have two kids. I hope the dog's alright.
- Little Spock watched in horror as the first of many red shirts died in the line of duty.
- The dingoes took my baby!
- Good thing little kids are made of rubber and Pampers.
- Chime in with your own red vs blue comments...
