Maybe in the morning I'll understand. My mind is a little warped and it's not because they made a movie about Abe Lincoln the Vampire killer or that they've remade Total Recall, which makes me realize I'm getting old when they're remaking movies I saw in a theater.
Anyways, this sucks. My wife was gone last night and most today but she ended up coming home earlier than planned and caught me in the act. And I mean caught me. There was nothing to say. I just admitted it. Explaining it felt good all last night and today got me nowhere. I'm sad, because I really liked it.
But now I have to say goodbye to the thermostat set at 72 degrees. Man it was great.

Phuz Quote: "There isn't a single part 121 subcontractor out there staffing more than 11 pilots per airframe. I think they are mostly in the 8-10 range." Maybe by using the term subcontractor he is referring to DCI's only. The reduction of 148 DCI aircraft would then be a reduction in DCI pilots by only 1,184 to 1,480 instead of 2,000 and an increase of 1,100 mainline pilots.

This is totally FALSE. The Negotiator's Notepads notwithstanding, this TA says nothing about a "mandatory trigger". The language says that the ratios are measured for the FIRST time in July of 2014...two years from now. Then if the ratios are found to be out of balance, the company has until January 2015 to "implement their plan" to rebalance the ratios. That's the actual language folks. No mandatory, and no trigger.
Words mean things.

Seeing how they operate the ratios with our JVs there is now doubt they will push the limits as far as they can as long as they can. This will not be in our favor. How some folks think mgmt is going to be honorable when they don't have foceable language to do so is shocking. When mgmt screwed the pilots during bankruptcy and then gave themselves a bonus, that was the fool me once. Fool yourself again and there is nobody to blame but yourself.
My NO vote was enjoyable to submit. My only worry was that I did it too soon. There is no question ALPA is watching the numbers daily and if things are not going their way expect to see more folks in ops. I suspect if ops gets more crowded with ALPA folks the vote is not going as planned.
