Did you answer a phone call? If so, I thing you are hosed. Not 100% positive.

How many SC's do you need to go into the 2nd bucket? I couldn't remember if it was 2 or 3. Thanks

It's technically 2 but you have to sit your 3rd before you're in bucket two. I think it's BS.

If it's 2 then why do you have to sit your 3rd? Thanks for the responses.

Because when you've only sat 2 SC's, you're still in the 0-2 bucket. Only once you've gotten your 3rd (and actually started sitting it, because sometimes they can "take it away" and give you something else) are you considered to be in the second bucket.

Correct. The buckets are 0-2, 3-5, and 6 or more. So you have to be credited with your 3rd SC before you make it to the 2nd bucket.

More sick time and better disability plans require the company to staff a tad higher, but only marginally. I neglected to mention the "biggies", sorry...

1)increase in VAC week pay and credit means more pilots needed to fly the same block
2)Increase in training pay and credit means more pilots needed to fly the same block
3) ADG will cause trips to credit more so more pilots will be needed to fly the same amount of block
4)more mandatory summer vacation weeks to be available for bidding requiring more pilots of summer months
5) 88 717's to take over 76 seat jet routes vacated to backfill the 70/50 seat routes
6) staffing formula changes that will require 72 more positions
7)Reserve pilots no longer have to fly to ALV with vac or training
8) another category adds training churn, more pilots needed to fly the same amount of block

Shiz,

Could you explain number 7 please. I'm going to try to reread section 23 in the TA but that one escapes me. Thanks

A reserve is now full at "his" guarantee, not "the" guarantee. All known absences are figured into the guarantee calculation. For example, let's assume an ALV of 77+30, which would yield a reserve guarantee of 75+30. A pilot has one week of vacation during the month worth 22+45 under the TA.

(75+30)-(22+45)= 52+45 for "his" reserve guarantee. He would be full when he reached that. Today he can be flown all the way up to 75+30.
