Because the Company wants to use ALV+15, the extra 2 hour ALV for regular line holders, the new 4+30, and the new FAR rest rules to build domestic trips like you have never seen before.
5-8 day trips with multiple 24 hour + sits. But, lower credit for longer trips. Less productive trips, etc.
Let's see...an 8 day trip worth 36 hours....that's 72 hours for 16 days work.
Of course with no changes to reroute rules....anything else can happen as long as you make it home on day 8.
Will your W2 increase with this TA? Maybe, if you are lucky enough to not get displaced by new efficiencies..........
Of course, if you do stay in your category...you'll most likely be working even more days every month.

So the company wants LESS pilots so that they can make us even LESS efficient? Ummmmmmmm........ok.

Day 1...7 hour block
Day 2....5 hour block
Day 3.... 24 hour sit
Etc....
At the end of 8 days you be bumping 30 in 7, but get 36 hours pay....due to the 4+30 rule
EDIT part: Forgot to add to less efficient aspect that you mock is just down the road when the new FAR rest rules take effect....You will get your rest....just not at home!

In your example the trip is already worth 16:45 hours.
Actually E, you won't have the 30 in 7 with the new regs, that goes away. You now have look back duty periods. This way, they can keep us on the road, subject to reroute (thereby saving reserves) and abuse you until you cry uncle and fake a back injury to get home. Of course, you'll be needing that doctors note
Oh, you'll be effecient.....

Just curious, what about trip rig (1 for 3.5)? It seems to be a factor on longer trips...

It's just like the show with Jody Foster..."Contact"
It was all so confusing until they found the "Primer", then it became totally clear how to build the time travel machine....
The new FAR work/rest rules are the Primer for unlocking the "gotchas" of this TA.
Just like the new Scope! Bring up Large RJ's up to 325. Then lock in the block hour ratio.....
Once locked....Shrink mainline and drop the remaining 111 50 seat RJ's to maintain correct ratio.
Once mainline is shrunk....bring on next merger
Pay Management handsomely! They really are THAT good! Tip of the hat to Anderson..... suckas!

Bidding question. I have shadow days the first 6 of July. Suppose to finish training end of June with OE to follow. How do the shadow days affect the way I bid? Thanks
