I believe Richard is a brilliant guy, but isn't it a wee bit premature to start announcing all these changes assuming the TA will pass?

It is time to complete the dramatic reduction of 50-seat RJs and significantly increase and upgrade our mainline fleet.
First, we’ve reached an agreement in principle with Southwest Airlines and Boeing – to lease 88 Boeing 717 aircraft for the mainline that will replace inefficient 50-seat RJs. The Boeing 717 aircraft will be extensively refurbished, with new seats, galleys, in-flight Wi-Fi and cabin upgrades. Once refurbished, the aircraft will seat 110 passengers with 12 first class seats, 15 Economy Comfort seats and 83 economy seats. These aircraft will give our high value customers even more opportunities to upgrade to first class and Economy Comfort seats, extending our industry leading position as the U.S. airline with the most first class seats.

Second, Delta will increase the two-class 76 seat regional jet fleet by 70 airplanes, which will increase our total large RJ fleet from 255 to 325.
THIRD, we are gonna get rid of the 767, 757, 320, 747s. But mutual respect will allow us to get along and have a place for the DAL furloughees to go; straight back to DCI.

Does anyone have an exact number of airframes that have been parked since the merger?

That isn't all they like to keep secret. As sailing has pointed out there is another shoe to drop probably an aircraft order. The reps know about it but won't tell us but presumably it makes this TA good. It sure doesn't stand on its own.

It does seem like they love to have the info and not share it at least with us, but other competing company CEOs are included. Maybe we need some wikileaks help.

What i cannot find is what was done regarding large turboprops?
Look at section 1 definitions. It's now an "aircraft" vs. "turbojet powered aircraft"

Seats, not power plants are no the determining factor. It could be warp drive and it doesn't matter.

If voted down, retro will apply, 50 seaters will still go away, and a nb order will still happen. Just say no.

Anything in the TA that stops funding competing airlines like Frontier via companies like Republic/Chataqua/Shuttle America?

Cuz if you're gonna grow 76 seaters - guess who is the cheapest?

Part of his brilliance may be the well planned orchestration of this. The next step after MEC approval? Apply pressure to the pilot group to vote yes.

I don't care about 717s, they should have nothing to do with this contract. It's the 76 seat jets that have me concerned. What we give up in scope can NEVER be recaptured.

Simple solution. We fly all and any additional 76 seat aircraft.

Whatever hole MGMT is in regarding 50 seat aircraft, lease terms, and DCI contracts, they dug themselves. We will help you out of this hole, but we aren't handing you our jobs.
