OK, I’m glad you guys are on top of this, but I’m still in my normal confused state. Ha I’m still trying to figure out the IRS tax code changes. LOL I think for several years the crooked line in the sand standard has been based on the 76 seater. What I’m hearing here is that an increase in 70 seaters is a No-Go issue. Where do you guys draw the line regarding seat count? I’m not sure I would disagree, but I’d like to hear an opposing view. I would actually like to see ALL aircraft in our system flown by DAL pilots, but it seems like an unrealistic idea.
If the TA scope went into effect and the company bought a magical number "88" particular narrow bodies planes:
DCI would be hard capped at 450 airplanes and 29930 seats.
A permanent reduction of 148 airframes and 5580 seats, plus all the block hour protections.
But there are big scope gains elsewhere also, let's not lose sight of other aspects of scope.

The truth is, I dont have a problem with the concept of hiring people who have been flying DAL passengers for years. That is NOT the issue I have.
The issue I have is that this wording further brings the ALPA conflict of interest to Delta's doorstep front and center. It also is contractual and further cements ALPA's position as the bargaining agent for DCI carriers...of which there are some non-ALPA affiliated carriers.
This isn't about unity, this is about ALPA the Corporation.

After a Jack on the rocks, and the upcoming House finale, I will not really be able to start digesting this until tomorrow... my comment about lawyers stands though.

153 76-seat max
with every 717 or A319 1.25 76-seater added
max cap of 223
reduction of 50-seaters
for the first 40 76-seaters, reduce 50-seaters by 11.1 units
for the next 30 76-seaters, reduce 50-seaters by another 10.7 units (22 total)
only after the last 76-seat jet is delivered and 76-seater count reaches 223 must the 50-seaters be reduced to 125
so roughly 350 50-seaters now
add 55 717 or A319
bring 76-seaters up to 222
50-seters reduced to 320-330
only after the 56 717 is delivered and the last of the max 223 76-seat jet is delivered will 50-seaters be reduced to 125
Cheers
George

In fact, we should only hire ALPA pilots, pilots coming directly from the military, corporate, or a foreign airline. IMHO.

Delta pilot deal allows it to add regional jets - Yahoo! Finance
Stock up 5% after announcement. Bombardier should be up as well tomorrow.

I'd say this pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter:

I've read thru section 1 twice. I haven't cross referenced anything, just read thru twice. Is it just me or does it seem like the references are pointing to an:
