Run the checklist, go back and land.

Land why? Because the autothrottles don’t work?

And did a 121 jetliner captain seriously ask dispatch if he (as Capt) would have to write up an overweight landing?

Fatiguing? It requires the bare minimum adjustments in cruise. A mostly idle descent on the Lendy, and then another idle descent until IAF.

When you sign FFF, it’s a signature not only for the present moment, but a reasonable expectation to be fit all the way through the rest of the flight. There’s really no reason to bring the F word on the radio.

The situation is bizarre. Sound like the first approach the CA was PM because the lady voice is on the ATC radios. An overshot approach, go around and then CA ends up on ATC radios, presumable the lady voice is now flying and lands the second approach. Just an observation.

Yikes. I hope the training department is listening. Diarrhea of the brain on initial contact with the Atlanta Radio operator shows a complete lack of understanding of so much of what we do. I don’t blame the pilot, but I do blame the system that puts this captain out into the wild without a better understanding of exactly how to “expand the team”. Too many platitudes, too little actual training going on in Atlanta, IMHO. Makes me wonder all that’s going on out on the line that ISN’T captured on YouTube, but I think ignorance might be bliss.
