Can only speak for my base/seat/fleet, but "the rest" aren't getting six. Six is now the cap. I've had 2 LC converted to SC in 4 months. Now that is extreme due to an over-staffing situation ATM. With some of our new options - pure SC for a min guarantee increase being attractive for the local guys, and pure long call supposedly being the first in the chute for trip assignments - it will be interesting to see how often traditional reserves are now converted to short call.

I think the union negotiated the 18 hrs and the 1 hr pay if converted, thinking the company would end up converting less because of it. But like someone else said, this was not the case and short call conversions are taken advantage of without worrying about the extra hour of pay at all.

Really sketchy on this part, but I believe you can still pick up SC assignments if you'd like to try to control your RAP times.

Don't quote me as I'm not a SC guy and haven't been paying the closest attention, but I believe it's 12 hours - from 73 to 85. It's also day by day. You start on long call - just like current rules - but can be converted unlimited times/month.

On a different note, is the company still handing out 6 hour SC assignments? My last one was and my FO said he’d gotten one too. A fantastic change if they stick with it.

Just a single data point but 85 hours wouldn’t be worth it for me and I live in base. 18 hr callout means short calls get used more frequently, so not worth the squeeze for me. 90-100 hrs maybe.

I’ve seen those 6 hour SCs assigned for early morning SCs, I assume it’s so you are still legal for an 18 hour callout to an AM show the next morning.
