There's a difference.
All the CrowdStrike affiliated airlines had the same initial root cause. Our recovery was worse. That's on our management. Plain and simple.

Still oversimplifying. Gatekeeper crashed as well because of this. AAs systems make a Commodore 64 look high tech. So they could recover faster. I think UALs system does not rely on windows so much. Recover faster. The inability to communicate is on us for sure, and that rests solely on what systems the 4th floor allows. And that needs fixed and those people held accountable for the failures and fixes that need implemented. but different systems are effected differently.

Technology for the sake of technology is a direct path to an Achilles Heel. In the IT world of a previous career, we affectionately called it the bleeding edge for a reason. It appears we've added technology without capability and sacrificed reliability. A good system that easily recovers will outperform perfect system that requires a perfect environment. Let's hope we learned a lesson that results in practical application of knowledge.
