Im telling you, it’s the “investment-grade”. Pure negative instability when we achieve this cryptonite.
Its like Elvis when he got too famous or Icarus flying too close to the sun.

Left 110 pax staring out the window as we flew an empty jet this morning. The flight attendants could not be located and crew tracking would not answer the phone. Good thing I wore my hat, otherwise that could have negatively afftected the NPS.

I’ve been saying about more pilot bases for about a year now.

They need to stop the “we don’t know what jet are going to fly because network wants flexibility” or the “it’s too expensive to open new bases” excuses.

Flight Ops need to make changes and tell network “this are the bases, this is what you have to work with”

A320/737 Bases would be the easiest to have around.

Just got awarded a trip an hour ago, still on hold with crew assist for a seat to get to ATL. Our lack of technology really shows during these events.

I’m all for more bases and more options for more pilots.

But I fail to see how a new base alleviates any of the chaos right now.

Pick up out of base flying will be easier.

Example…FL pilots could pick up flying out of base WS/GS starting in MCO/FLL/MIA (whatever base they open). Same can be said fromTexas, BoS, etc…

Most trips I’ve been getting called are DH to somewhere but I can’t go because deviating won’t get me there fast enough. Also flights are canceling and there’s no communication with the tracking, crew assist, etc.

we need IROP slips. List where you can originate from and have a system that can see “ok, need a crew to operate out of ABC city, who has a slip in and is qualified. When awarded trip, pos space home is built in. Pays as a GS, but labeled IS with same GS rules (all can get 1 before 2). Goes out as OBIS (out base irop slip) and sits right after OOBGS. Company can only use after trying the trip as OOBGS when Irop has been declared AND blasted out via email/text with a 1 hour lead time for slip updates. During that time they can still try the usual GS ladders to cover.

Just an idea.

absolutely priceless.
Company was unreachable all day. My first flight canceled before I reported. I never heard from tracking all day even though I tried to contact them many times and various ways. The app had about a 30min delay to get an agent. If listen to that hold music any longer, I might be brainwashed into thinking our operation is the best.
