yup aiming point adjustment at the appropriate time is something we are supposed to practice. There is even a blurb on adjusting your desired landing gear touchdown point in the FCTM 6.4.1

Totally agree as a little low and on speed is a perfect energy state. I’m talking full scale low 4 red at the threshold in search of that ultra soft touchdown in the jet that calls you a ‘tard. Seen it a lot out of salty dudes. The end result is usually a sorta long landing, smashing the brakes, and fans on taxiing in on an otherwise cool day.

Over at Brown they were literally sleeping on the floors in the 767 for the longest time. I have absolutely no idea how that counted. The 2016 contract created the Pilot Rest Module which is a cargo container with two bunks. It's absolutely amazing.

At United, our 767s (both -300 and -400) have a pretty nice setup with the soundproof curtain at 1A. I could stand up and change as well as get sleep in there with no issues. Not as good as the 777 but the breaks were much shorter anyway…

I've heard this one before from other pilots. Do none of you wear ear plugs? Just the sound of the engines would be enough to keep me up without some.

It's not enough. But no more 1st break for me.

Yes, I rarely hear a thing when I’m down there.

Earplugs or ANC earbuds are good at deadening engine noise. Nothing filters out bumper carts in the 767 aisle and galley. In the 330 bunk, even with earplugs, you can feel the engines spool up for a step climb. Thanks to moving thrust levers, Boeing pilots tend to do better at avoiding throttle bursts in a climb.
