LOSA

I think this is a universal concept for all professions. Lease amount of work for the most earnings is the goal. My surgeon scheduled 5 procedures in a single day and had the rest of the week free.

Looking this from the international fleets perspective, it looks like you would lose money unless like someone else said you bid reserve. If you do a losa audit on an international three day are you getting paid for all three days or just the two observation flights? So 10 or 15 hours? Even if its 15 a typical 3 day pays anywhere from 16-19 hours depending on your base. If you start out the month preloaded with 15 hours of credit and want to fly 75, your going to end up around 64.5-70 hours - might as well fly another 3 day or get a three day gs. Reserve would take away three days I guess.

The biggest issue to me is that the LOSA days are pay/no credit, so presumably if you are a lineholder then it will really hurt your shot at GS.

I am told WB folks get 4 days blocked. Expected to observe one leg, then spend two nights in the hotel across the pond so you can observe a different crew on the way back.

For an ocean crossing trip, ( say a 3 day to AMS) you get 4 LOSA days for 2 observations. That’s 20 hours. If the layover is 48 hours ( 4 day trip) , it’s still 4 LOSA days( 20 hours pay/ no credit)

These are two different things. I'm with you on max pay per time gone, it's why SS are so great. I'm talking about is the pilots taking these (or other) gigs in hopes of working themselves into an office job. Those jobs certainly aren't the hallmark of least work for most pay.
