Is it a violation of pass travel policy to hold multiple flights for the same day/city? I would argue holding a JS and standby listing is circumventing the intent of only holding a single non-revs listing.

It’s not, I’ve asked.

Because on my short commute flight the JS is better than back row B or E.

everything I have read is JS on one flight and NR on another is fine.

Maybe I missed it in the memo, but I don't quite understand how the scheduling for the LOSA people works. A normal pilot, then 2-3 days of LOSA rides? Do they get to drop regular trips with their LOSA days, or are they just working more? Can they choose any flight to observe?

Just sign up and commit to the program first. Then they’ll tell you those details.

incredibly vague and why I decided against it, great drop your trip which will pay more and get a flat rate of 5 hours to do damn near double that in observing/analytical writing or fly a simple trip and get a min of 5:15 and maybe more.

Update on my question: Found the scheduling and pay document. 2 LOSA days pre-posted on your schedule if doing 1 observation, 3 LOSA days if doing two. LOSA days are 5:00 pay no credit, then you bid normally. Maybe not a positive if you're a lineholder, but potentially good on reserve? If I understand correctly, since its company duty, you could bid your reserve days to put one day of availability on the front and back to fulfill the 3 day block, and thus be less usable, at least for more than a day trip?

trust me when I say you’re going to work way harder on it than you would on reserve. I was at first kind of upset that I was pushed back to reserve from a line now I’m not quite sure I want to have a line ever again assuming things don’t change too much.

Oh I am right there with you on reserve, I found it to be a pretty good deal this winter when I bid reserve and expired on TO's and landings! Don't see anything that says you can't combine LOSA with reserve though.
