Fuel tax and vehicle registration fees
It's about as fair as it gets, until the taxes get misappropriated.
Police and fire are often funded by property tax. Got a big house? Pay more in fire protection tax.
It's a shame the education system doesn't do a better job of explaining sources and uses of public funding (taxes). It's almost as if they don't want us knowing.

It is almost as if the public education system didn’t teach you reading comprehension. So I will help you out - the post you replied to was lamenting that a previous poster didn’t understand where revenue for various services come from. As in the fire department isn’t paid for with income tax - it is paid for with property tax. In other words cutting income tax wouldn’t mean your house (or someone with lass money than you) would burn down because the fire department wouldn’t be defunded. Then you you reply with how a more stupid population asks less questions. Your post further points out that our education system is seriously flawed.
