I really don't think this is going to be an issue. We are receiving six 330s in the 2nd half of 2024 and DAL certainly plans on flying them. By the time the BOS base opens all 6 will probably in the system and flying. My prediction - 330 flying will probably remain the same or slowly increase out of all of our current bases. Except for MSP which is down 1 daily departure to 6 currently while we had 7 daily flights last summer, probably due to gate constrainsts during construction.

More options for flying benefits all of us - this is great news..................................... if it actually happens.

This is exactly my thought.

Just wondering if this will cascade down to the other fleets in a meaningful way, opening up some vacancy bids for NBA upgrades. First base opening for many of us on property, so not really sure what to expect.

At this point it I know it is a wag but with a good amount of Boston commuters how senior do you think the right seat will go? Is there a good chance someone with less than 2 years on property can slip in?

The big question…will BOS opening drive NYC330A to a 2014 hire in the next 6 months?

Respectufully disagree (I'm taking a break from the grill grandkids are still running around a little longer than we planned so not ready to eat just yet). It's not a zero sum game when we open a base. Flying will be pulled from the other 330 bases to support the BOS trip originations. Except NY, I don't see any reductions happening there. Network wants more reliability out of BOS. It's a very strong and growing int'l market for us. Your turns thru BOS are going to dwindle down from other bases to support the BOS originations. Have a good 4th Scoop.

What are we thinking, 50-ish offerings for each seat on the intial AE? Seems like small-ish is the customary way for new category launches, as allowing too many freeze releases is frowned upon in this establishment.

He probably can hold the longer trips out of BOS like ATH or TLV but still works a whole lot harder than easy AMS and CDG flights.
The bid package will be interesting on how the company builds the trips to minimize credit. They could for example run W trips through ATL and have ATL crews due W trips through BOS rather than 3 day trips. SLC will be in play for W trips from BOS as they would have zero credit.

these inefficiencies are why they’re opening a bos base

If they go to 150 FOs it might get to a few 2021 hires. Hopefully the 320 and/or 220 follows sometime next year and opens things up quite a bit.
