While it will likely "pull on NYC" a bit, that's not a bad thing in any way. NYC is artificially oversized with commuters anyway, so pulling some of that out and into a base that is easier to commute to or local for many isn't a bad thing. Anyone living or commuting to NYC would still have tons of options for flying.

Anyone heard of displacement plans yet? Dashboard is showing a projected loss of 70 positions in ATL

Precisely why I posted what I did

I guess the vairable in the NY base, with the forthcoming BOS base, is how many of the more senior Boeing folks are going to chunk a rock and (gasp) move to the bus. It's not hard (as I've posted before). Bus variants are very simple airplanes. I would find it difficult to fathom continuing to commute to NY base from the far NE (NH, VT, MA etc) than taking the 330 in BOS and being able to drive to work. If enough of those senior folks in NY decide to move over to the 330 (sorry forgot lots of 330 NY pilots live up in the far NE too so there is that dynamic) that could create some decent movement in the NY base. Again, spitballing here but it's a fun exercise. You've been around DAL long enough to know the mob is indeed fickle.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they still commute. Look at all the pilots that live in a base and choose to commute to another base. Seems crazy to me but it does happen

I emailed crew resources months ago when I noticed this in a category I was considering bidding. Response was reduced backfills and retirements.
Which means 1000% Aug displacements.

It's crazy for me to think that someone would rather commute than switch to bus.

Plenty of those people on the ER in ATL that didn’t want to move after DTW and MSP ER closed. Insane to me too

Yeah this makes zero sense.

Most that fall under that paragigm are doing it solely for a seniority bump. The folks I'm talking about are top 10%'ers. They've got seniority no matter where they go or stay.
