You can’t honestly think someone that orchestrated a recall as a vindictive measure against the FO REP in his own council that didn’t vote for him, was against all Covid LOAs that produced real quantifiable wins for the pilot group, and literally told the junior pilots in his council that getting furloughed was a right of passage and he wouldn’t try and save anyone would have been light years better.
DH has been bad enough that some people are wishing we would have had TK.
Clearly that election was the inspiration for the South Park $h:t sandwich vs giant douche episode. Hopefully better candidates emerge for the next election.

The Covid/furlough stuff was before the election and what kept TK from getting elected. The sour grapes behavior after the election made it look really good that he didn’t get elected.

I agree from the outside I thought RS did well. I never heard the whole story on why he was so disliked by the horseshoe. There were rumors about not playing well with others. My rep at the time said he voted in favor of RS because that was what the pilot group wanted, but his personal choice would have been different.

I liked RS too. He rubbed the company the wrong way. I guess that's why they made the call to get rid of him. Most of the people I know thought RS was a good Chair. The company did not like him, so he was moved out the door.

I think there was more than that to the story. My rep at the time has a pretty strong anti-company reputation.

Rubbing the company the wrong way should be the most basic requirement for the job.

Point to one “proactive engagement” style MEC chair who has produced net positive results for this pilot group.
There’s no need for the SVP and MEC chair to like each other. By the very nature of the two positions, they should have more disagreements than agreements. Mutual respect (to some degree) is all that is needed. That doesn’t exist today, as management finds new ways to walk all over DH every day.
RS wasn’t well liked by management, but he produced far more for the pilot group than DH.
