C44 Recall
#31
I'm hearing the C44 chair, DA, is now trying to save his position by implying that C44 pilots will not be represented at the bi-annual ALPA National "Board of Directors" confab in LATE OCTOBER, which seems to be where all the reps from every airline meet to develop the next round of postition papers.
The irony here is that DA abohors ALPA National, the ALPA PAC, and anything union-related. But somehow he's trying to manipulate C44 pilots into thinking he is indespensible to the process. He is not. None of them are; nothing will change whether they are at the meeting or not. In fact, it might even go better for Delta ALPA if DA is excluded from the proceedings; he is highly polarizing and doesn't work well with others.
In any case, he is also being disingenous (standard ops) by implying that the recall is an all-or-nothing outcome. Each rep will have a separate ballot. Athough all four reps seem to be flawed, it might be best to focus the recall on the chair, DA...and the deadbeat, EM.
There is no legitimate explanation for EM's disappearance. He dropped out of the picture after the new contract started. I guess he figured green slips on the 350 were more important than the job he committed to. A boomer "quiet quitter" who won't actually quit, so former scheduling chairman SK won't take his place. This is exactly the hack behavior that turns off pilots from participating.
c44 becomes instantaneously more functional once those two guys are removed from office. I can't wait to hear their highly contrived excuses and desperate pleas to remain in office. Expect the arrogance, misdirection, and obfuscation to intensifiy.

This is my take from the interactions I’ve had as well as anecdotes from others that have said the same.
