I’d say it would be a good time if there were a backup plan ready to go. A real backup place to replace ACE, not STS.

That’s $83 per year per Pilot….VERY VERY cheap. ACE recovered over $40,000 for me. Unless there’s a suitable replacement on deck….it needs to return post haste. And whoever decided to get rid of it needs to go…

and how much was ace recovering? By my math if it was recovering ~$81m/ year across the pilot group (or about $4700 per year per pilot) it paid for itself with dues money.

my guess was SIGNIFICANTLY more than that was recovered by ace, especially before our MEC gave away batch sizes.

A transition plan and a capable replacement would have been appropriate.

Exactly this. ACE netted me thousands. Under 7 dollars per month per pilot is a totally reasonable price for this. I don't understand pilots' cheapness or inability to grasp large numbers. Talk about stepping over a dollar to save a penny.

I know it for a fact.

At $1.5 million per year indefinitely, it was time to step away from ACE.
Not true. (It was about $1.3M for the last year, btw) There was a deal rejected by DH and his lawyers to permanently buy the reporting part of ACE for a fraction of that cost. Which would have plugged into the company’s ACE desktop application on their end, and enabled all the backend services in waiting, including AUTO-ID among others, to be offered as a side service, pay as you go.

But they didn’t want you to have that. Think about that for a second. Extraordinarily short sighted at best…

I would love to know what possible reason they would have for that, that would be in the best interest of the pilot group.

but it’s from the same person who gave away batch sizes for nothing, so I can’t say I’m surprised.

"But for" ACE, we would still be at $4M recoered annually instead of $20+M, and the behavior of the company would not have changed, and we would not have sercured many of the provisions in C19 we did.

But sure, the scheduing volunteers deserve credit for doing thier work.

And again, there were a plethora of big wins just around the corner that got thrown out the window along with the investment ALPA put into developing them.
