Its easy to grasp. I watched it over and over again during my career. Most of the pilots advocating for age 67 were dead set against age 60. Pilots in mergers claim DOH is the only fair way to merge until the next merger comes along and a ratio benefits them.

Really, what did you donate? Go ahead and throw up your statement and put it on here hero. Last time we talked, you were whining about how covid may cause you to have to downgrade “from YOUR seat”. All about you goes both ways it seems.

This should put the threat of raising the age to bed, permanently. ICAO is not interested. The airlines are not interested. The FAA is opposed! There is no medical study, and no funding for a medical study. There is no more glaring pilot "shortage."
Most of all, generationally, GenX, millenials, and GenZ don't want to work more, they want to work less. As the bo0mers age out, this issue will depart with them, and we can focus on the threat of single-pilot or whatever other nonsense is next.
Sure, the old guys will gripe and moan, and their lobbying firm will continue to string them along and collect more money, but there is no chance of a stand-alone bill. It's not in Congress's top 2500 issues to address, nor will it ever be. It looks like the whole issue was driven by one corrupt Congressman whose brother is a Delta 350 captain.
It truly is a shame the way many of these Age 67 advocates have classlessly comported themselves, and how they have shown their true colors. Their selfish, irrational, and hypocritical conduct is their legacy.

Yet, instead of enjoying the few good years of decent QOL their golden years will bring before it all comes crashing down, they opt for the money grab instead. It's bloody depressing, really.

When is Nehls retiring anyway? Maybe there should be a nice delegation from all major airlines at his fini flight to wish him a happy f*cking retirement when the time comes. Although maybe he would actually enjoy the attention.

Think he’ll sick out after that embarrassing show.

Has there ever been a study of the average life expectancy of a long term airline pilot? With all the dirty cabin air, UV radiation, wacked out circadian rhythms, abhorrent diet, sedentary lifestyle, etc etc, I can only infer that it's less than the average person. Probably by quite a few years.
