I hate Bernie Sanders politics to the core but respect the man. He actually votes what he believes is in the best interest of his constituents not how he is told or paid to vote. He walks the walk.

This should put the threat of raising the age to bed, permanently. ICAO is not interested. The airlines are not interested. The FAA is opposed! There is no medical study, and no funding for a medical study. There is no more glaring pilot "shortage."
Most of all, generationally, GenX, millenials, and GenZ don't want to work more, they want to work less. As the bo0mers age out, this issue will depart with them, and we can focus on the threat of single-pilot or whatever other nonsense is next.
Sure, the old guys will gripe and moan, and their lobbying firm will continue to string them along and collect more money, but there is no chance of a stand-alone bill. It's not in Congress's top 2500 issues to address, nor will it ever be. It looks like the whole issue was driven by one corrupt Congressman whose brother is a Delta 350 captain.
It truly is a shame the way many of these Age 67 advocates have classlessly comported themselves, and how they have shown their true colors. Their selfish, irrational, and hypocritical conduct is their legacy.

I agree that the way the LEPF folks and some others handled this was reprehensible, but remember that the activists are likely a minority. Unity is a fragile thing and we need to get past this and on to other issues as you rightfully allude to.

Yup, he's what a politician should be. To my knowledge, he's never voted for his own, or paid, interests over what he believes is best for his constituents. Like his politics or not, we need more people with his principles toward his job.

Paul Welstone was similar. I didn’t agree with his politics at all but at the end of the day he truly was in Washington for the right reasons.

Agreed. Unfortunatley for some of the 67ers, they'll never get over this. Heck, on the other forum, one is joking about joining the FAA so he can JS around and make "anti-67ers" lives painful lol. Thankfully they're in the minority.
