And what are those $2m dollars at age 79 worth in age 67 dollars after inflation is taken out of the gains? What's your point? You're just making numbers up now. That $1m dollars would probably be worth $2t at some point so let's just use that why don't we?

Working 2 extra years does not equate to anywhere near $2m extra earnings by the time you hit 67 compared to what you would have without working, unless you just kill it your last 2 years. Make up all the what-if scenarios, and funny math that you want, but it doesn't add up.

OK. Why the anger Puddytatt?
If you retire at 65 and go get a job making a million dollars for one year is that an extra million dollars in “earnings”? To me it is but I can see the argument that it really isn’t because of taxes. But it is $1M in extra “earnings” to the IRS.

The direction of this thread has confirmed that a push for 67 is nothing more than a money grab. At this point we are just debating the amount. Thanks all for the confirmation.

I thought it was about mentorship and old people rights and stuff.
One day your grandkids will be excited to visit the Let Experienced Pilots Fly Museum in DC. They demolished some lesser museum to make room for it. They will eagerly wait to hear your stories of standing up to oppression. You won’t be able to look them in the eye because you will know you were on the wrong side of history.

Because your numbers are wrong and you keep digging in on them and making up hypotheticals that don't make sense. Enjoy your H&B, I'm out.

Don’t know what H&B is. I dig in on my numbers because people say I didn’t account for A or B and I show them I did. I ask people for better numbers and people just say they don’t have time for that or make up some other excuse. Yes I did make up hypotheticals. You have to. Show me your different hypothetical numbers and maybe we can have an intelligent discussion. But just dismissing my argument and then saying “I’m out” doesn’t make sense.

When the house passed 67 in its bill, it raised the hope of all pilots at the end of their careers and made them think those extra 2 bonus years were actually going to happen. Now that the hope is gone, they are ****ed.

In their minds, it already did happen. They bought their boats and fancy cars. Now they think because we oppose it, we are taking it away.
