For decades, airline pilots have approached the mandatory retirement age and gracefully exited with their dignity intact. Aside from '07, this current LEPF group will stand out as the .00001% of our profession's history that flailed their arms like a toddler drowning in a pool on their way out. Having watched this group flush their reputations and dignity down the toilet, I would put my money on future generations returning to the norm of a quiet & graceful exit. I can't imagine many who watched the pathetic scene that just unfolded wanting to be the profession's next Delta Dave

I did read the story but unfortunately there were a lot of missives on that day. It mentioned Biden wouldn’t sign the bill if 67 was included. It cited the FAA and everyone else being against the amendment to the age. I’m not bothered enough to find the article but apparently you are. Like all news article it was a speculation when adding facts to the discussion. Another writer could just as well surmise something different. No one knows what would happen for sure either way.
I know this is not an easy time for you pro 67 pilots. But like the rest of us that sat through the mostly downs of SARS, 9/11, BK, lost pensions, age 65 , mergers and COVID this industry is a cruel mistress. Enjoy retirement and get on with life. Unless you have been advocating for 67 ever since age 65 was announced your sincerity of this being good for all is disingenuous at best.

I would not be surprised if he said this, given the administration’s opposition to raising the retirement age, but there’s almost no chance that he actually vetos the reauthorization over what is a small issue to everyone but us.
