Being a co-sponsor of a bill that likely will never go anywhere on its own, and breaking with party leadership on a significant issue that has become a partisan argument are two different things.

Also, it is likely that any floor amendment will require 60 votes. Even the ever-optimistic 67 FB page is only looking at conference committee to get 67 in the bill.

there will be no debate, thus no filibuster…and no amendments from the floor. Per Schumer.

sorry for your loss

Floor Amendment in this case is a simple majority, I agree that it may or may not happen. Cruz said he is considering it.

First the pilots “get to” fly to 67, then Medicare eligibility goes up to 67 then pilots have to fly to 67 to have medical coverage. Of course that will take time so probably not a factor for the guys who initially benefit from 67, but definitely a factor for “junior”.

Cruz got his special airport escorts and exclusive TSA screening. He may have used up a lot of his bargaining chips.
Someone mentioned it earlier. Now that it’s behind closed doors, will he care to continue pursuing it?

If they don’t see you out money in the tip jar, did it ever happen?

This is correct, only way most partisan or special interest stuff gets passed is in larger bills, where compromise is necessary to get it all done.

Conference is what's left at this point. If it gets throught that, Biden will sign it.

I read last week Biden wouldn’t sign with 67. We will know eventually and hopefully for once the majority will win and 67 will be defeated. In a few years the next round of 64 year olds get their 15 minutes.
