I've never heard of this guy before the whole 67 thing started. Is this guy a "big" deal in Congress? Does he have that much pull?

Stop trying to die in the cockpit.

He is on a couple transportation and infrastructure committees (Highways and Railroads), but not on the aviation committee.
He has been spending a lot of time at both the senate and house aviation subcommittee meetings talking solely about age 67.
I don’t know how well liked he is or how much pull he has, but he is a man on a mission. Thanksgiving dinner is going to be awkward if he doesn’t pull this off.

I looked and can’t find that. Could you link to it?

Yes, he even admitted in the infamous "Delta Dave flex" hearing that he had to get a waiver to even question in the hearing. And then he kept going back to the same well 7x over. He was the ONLY one who asked a question about 67, and it wasnt' even a very strong performance. He has drawn too much attention to himself, and I wouldn't be at all suprised if his fellow congressmen/women all know his brother is a pilot and would benefit directly from 67. That kind of behavior is often recognized for what it is. It's not like "Megan's law" or some other virtuous crusade where folks admire tenacity. Call me naive if you want - maybe this stuff happens more than I would like to admit in Congress. But they are still human. And people generally don't like to participate in that kind of personal enrichment (unless it benefits their graft too, that is). I'd bet he has done more harm than good to 67, but we'll see. Won't stop either side from some wishful thinking.

I still think the GOP won't fight for it in conference. They made a public show of "bucking the union", and that's really their only motiation. If it's not public, thier heart's not in it... It's all politics, just like the CEO's. Blackburn even admitted they were against it, despite what they are saying publicly - heck, even internally at Town Hall type events.

All that said, I still think 67 will happen eventually. But ICAO has to lead the way, or it's going to be a friggin mess.

Google "Boss Hogg, Dukes of Hazard" then Google "Troy Nehls, cigar" and you will see he is a very big deal!

Oh great. This dude is a caricature of a "manly man". I mean he also thought having a dude out on disability flexing in front of Congress was a solid idea...

Not true, Manchin and Kelly are co-sponsors of the LEPF Act. If a floor amendment is allowed, Age 67 would pass 51-49.
