Wearing ear plugs while sleeping in most of our layover hotels has been a game changer for me.

All this layover talk really got me thinking about the next AEs…😏
Curious to see how the next ones play out. As someone mentioned earlier, 30-50 pilots have been retiring each month, BS said the next AEs will begin staffing us for 2025, and lastly, it’s the first AE since the age 65/67 issue has been settled. I’m cautiously optimistic we could begin to see some decent movement again.

They will likely meter it out over several bids though. With monthly bids, I doubt we’ll see a MOAB again anytime soon.
(historically, each WB captain retirement generates 7 training events, so there will be tons of movement regardless.)

Concur for all the reasons you mention, plus deliveries on both the 330 and 350. Not including retirements over the last couple of months, there are over 200 WB A retirements on those two fleets alone over the next year.

The next 3 bids may be eyecatching for the pilot group. Any sharpshooters up for guessing the date the wall falls in dtw Atl slc etc? It could be a pretty nice power ball game if one considers BES for each wb category across the bases.

Agreed. Owl bar up the street for a drink is pretty cool too.
BTW, I would rather layover in downtown SFO than LAX. My last layover in LAX was the only time I was nervous venturing out more than a block or two from the hotel at night. I was shocked by the number of homeless, and I do quite a bit of west coast flying.

Yes, SF smells of weed and you have to look down when walking. That part sucks. The food and drink options are decent though. Just don't park a car on the street. Guy at the Owl told me his was busted into 4 times in the last 6 months.

I wanted something different the last time I was there and ended up at the Owl. Higher end business people, locals, and international visitors staying at the hostel nearby. A fair price, too. I'll happy go back.

So at least you admit you have to dodge the human excrement on the sidewalk
15/20/25 years ago that wasn't an issue.
What changed it?
Union square is a ghost of its former self. As is most the city save for a few enclaves.
I guess you weren't there 20 years ago. Yes the san fran of 20 years ago + was awesome. Now, better watch your step.

Are we confident it’s human excrement? I mean that certainly has more shock value, but Occam’s Razor tells me folks aren’t cleaning up after their dogs or the strays. I’ve seen plenty of dogs poopin, but never anyone popping a squat on the sidewalk.

Some of it is for sure human I have witnessed a female vagrant squat on the sidewalk and let er rip. I had to step over a flowing stream of urine to continue down the sidewalk and avoid the stench.

Vagrant 😂😂 I know you used the word correctly, it just sounds funny to me.

It is confirmed to be human.
