I know summer sometimes brings that out, but it's generally not this bad. Your only hope is dumping your trips and picking up 0xxx trips, but even those are fewer because they're able to assign more and more bid packet trips to reserves. Crap staffing has made dumping my trips harder, but still manageable here and there.
LMAO! Ironic a NYC pilot commenting about ATL being painful.

ATL has some pretty good destinations. On a quick glance I saw HNL, BOG, UIO, GIG, EDI, VCE, SXM, UVF, DUB, ZRH, STR, PRG, LIS and KEF.

some of it flies through JFK or other hubs, but still not a bad mix

My bad! Thought we were discussing how bad the NYC trips are and assumed he was NY.

DTW, not NYC. In fact, one of the great things about my current fleet is that we do not go to JFK/LGA. Hoping we hang onto that forever.

As a west coast 737 guy, I can say that the trips that don't touch Atlanta are significantly better than the ones that do. I'd rather fly through JFK...or even LGA to be honest.

It’s likely because you don’t know any better. The HNL hotel is GARBAGE. Homeless camp next to it, 20 min walk to the beach, food options nearby are mediocre at best, the rooms are awful…it’s trash

There are probably at least 100 different places to eat within a mile of that hotel. The property itself is a dump but I've never gone hungry there.
