Prepare Yourselves… 2024 AEs

It doesn’t need to be structured as a deal between individual pilots. A pilot would simply bid for a mutual base trade to another base. If another pilot bids to move in the other direction, then the swap is made via an automated process that the company runs every month. Everything is done in seniority order, so that only the most senior pilots desiring swaps are awarded them.
AA has this. It works well over there.

This is the same coin as the OOBWS or OOB swaps on the PTP board.

Your logic is no different than a senior pilot wanting to displace a junior pilot on a category that is unavailable for bidding at the time. The scenario mentioned above, which works great at other companies, is a zero sum situation. Required training is not available and so the senior pilot is not able to bid that category. This shouldn’t impede flexibility between like-categorized pilots looking to simply swap locations.

This! I can't see a reason to limit this type of flexibilty.

I don’t think they mean “pilot to pilot base swap side deal.” I understood that they essentially wanted an AE with no posted positions, for the hypothetical situation where there are no positions needed for new hires. Not sure if that’s a thing, but in that scenario the senior person would still get the swap.
edit: seems simple enough, but I also don’t think delta can limit it to swaps only. So Delta potentially eats a training bill if the senior person wants to change planes to a diff plane and base. Also creating another secondary opening that may require training.
Any other swap system would have to get some kind of Union approval and I’m sure whatever process they came up with would protect seniority.

Pretty much impossible if a system similar to AA’s is used. They have no way to control who the slot they are swapping out of goes to. It goes to the appropriate pilot in seniority order.

I think it’s funny to see how the monthly AEs have changed the fever surrounding AEs. Yes this was a smaller, almost insignificant, AE, but the results have been out for hours and only one post.
Whats the world coming to and what’s next? Soon we may even go a whole page without talking about stolen pensions or age 67 😮

At least if movement is created you get to see how it effects you.
