Yeah, it’d be nice to have a rule that 2nd day trips have to go through 1 PCS run before assignment to reserve. That way line holders get a chance to swap and the company still gets to assign two days out.

I did not know that. Good to know. Is there a contractual reference for that?

next AE will be small because of summer training and I’m sure the forums will act completely reasonable about it

I just finished A330 school last week. Heard from the instructors...3 of them, that they were preparing to ease up on training for summer, and then things changed. A lot of instructors were told they'd be flying the line most of the summer during a meeting. The next week at another meeting, they were told to prepare for max training this summer. Network decided to move a considerable amount of ER flying "elsewhere", and the 330's were filling in those gaps and that we went from ok staffed to short staffed with the stroke of a couple keyboard keys. The example I was given was that they may have decided to replace 757's on several Hawaii routes with ER's so those ER aircraft that were supposed to be serving Europe flights this summer needed to be replaced with 330's, and those flights were yet to be accounted for in training.

Like I said, this was told to me by three different instructors my last week of training, but who knows, maybe this week at the meeting, they were told to prepare for line flying this summer again. Just passing on what I was told. If there is another significant WB A and B vacancies on this bid, maybe the info is correct.

The 757’s got taken away from Hawaii the end of 2022. I’m on LAX ER. We’ve been doing ER only Hawaii since Dec of 2022. But we did add the HND route which will take a few away (we didn’t have that last summer) and sometimes DTW-HNL is 76 now and we lost a couple to the scrap yard. I’ve noticed some of the Europe I did last summer is on 330’s now too (Milan/Rome for example). Then there’s the 765 and that thing can always do something I least expect for a couple months lol. So it wouldn’t shock me with that information. But I still don’t expect anything but a small bid (mostly new hire openings) for a couple months, consistent with what Bob said. But who knows.

Looking around at the 330 bases system wide, it appears DTW is significantly understaffed compared to the rest of them. PLus on the last AE they had 12 dtw fo spots, and then they didnt award any of them due to "a last minute change from network" Will be interesting to see if this is true
