A senior FO on the 73 or Airbus will not have two dry months in the next year unless flying unexpectedly shrinks. We are 3 years into a continous GS waterfall for senior pilots. It isn't going to change drastically for the senior anytime soon. Only by choice would someone not get at least 1 a month.
My NB fleet absolutely has had them dry up. Last month was dry, this month is bone dry. Blue days every day including weekends. To say that on workhorse fleets GS aren’t going anywhere is disingenuous. It depends on the fleet, and several have had them dry up legitimately, not just outlier one-off scenarios.

Man, those are the days! As others have said, it used to be that getting a few GS a YEAR was consider doing good. Enjoy this time while they last, it's come and gone multiple times in my short career. It's too bad the entire airline isn't like that all the time. Our profit sharing checks might be a bit smaller, as would my W2, but I'd gladly exchange that for what that level of staffing provides.

Agreed. Zero greenslips going out should be a goal.

Actually from the companies perspective zero GS would tend to be considered over-staffed. There is definitely a sweet spot that minimizes payroll and I don't think its zero GS. If we are staffed to cover IROPS with reserves we would be way overstaffed for normal Ops. GS's were predomiantly a surge capability until they started flowing like water to cover regualr Operations. It used to be GS mainly went out on WX related issues and one offs. For example I was hired in 2000 and I think my first GS was around 2008. It just something that most Pilots would not pay that much attention to. Sure there were always a few Ninjas but very junior Pilots getting multiple GS was mostly unheard of. I do remember something about numerous GSs going out in the Orlando express days but that was a unique operation.

Additionally GSs always have been and always will be BES dependant. Every time someone says GS have dried up 20 seconds later someone says they are going out like crazy in my seat and then 20 seconds after that someone says they have totally dried up in my seat. Time will tell but if the company ever does catch up on staffing we will see an overall decrease in GS. This will then become a factor in the upgrade decision.

Anyone can shed some light on the reason there's a bunch of planes parked in ATL in the south side? Lower demand this time of year perhaps?

See it every winter. I remember seeing SJ shut down with planes parked on it before.

No. But some people believe it is. I rather be well staffed for summer. I remember being a NH and barely flying in RSV during summer 2017. I averaged less than 40hrs a month. Bored of doing nothing in the crashpad. Now with the 18hr long call I would’ve been home enjoying my time.

No GS and YS were going senior.

No, not from a Pilots point of view. But from managments point of view its very inefficient. On the bright side I have been here 24 years and we have never gotten staffing "correct," unless of course you count the infinitesimally small moments in time during which we rapidly swung from understaffed to overstaffed and vice versa.

Tuesday in February. Light schedule.

They'll all be flying Thursday through Sunday I'm sure!
