Prepare Yourselves… 2024 AEs

I don't know all the nomeclature of things the FA's or underwing folks use around the plane, so I certainly don't expext our CEO to know a QRH or any of the other minutia of our job. He appeared to do a pretty good job of running Delta despite this "lack of knoweledge."
Anyway, is the AE coming out today? Will we see a reduction in AE's with the slowed hiring?

I talked to Bob about monthly AE’s and the future in December. He said it will still be monthly AE’s. I mean it’s still likely going to be like 100 people a year if new hires, but also 500 people a year of retirements (minimum). There will still be decent movement going on. And I imagine summer will be slow for 4 or so months. So that leaves 8 months to get a lot done too.

That seems unlikely. At 200/month that fills classes all the way to June meaning there’d still be heavy training volume in the summer. I’d guess it will be more like 600 hired through March (200/month), with minimal class sizes through the summer, then go back to 100/month in the end of august or September to hit 1100 for the year.

that would be max capacity sim training in the middle of the summer which is likely the opposite of what will happen.

In my experience, ive had a great experience with all the DPS instructors. (When did it change from DGS?) I've only had 2 instructors rub me the wrong way and they were both SLI guys. One guy was my first recurrent checkride on the ER, and it was just me....I had the 75/76 fleet training Captain (GP back in 2009)as my captain seat filler. During the brief, this SLI was trying to convey to me how important he was doing a bunch of name dropping of senators and congressman. He had some position in ALPA and spent a lot of time on Capitol Hill. Then during the checkride, I was literally single pilot, because my seat filler wanted to make sure he didn't help too much, by not helping at all. It was a pretty bad experience, after only being on the fleet 9 months, but I made it through. The next recurrent I was absolutely dreading, but it went so smoothly, and the instructor was great again and I decided I was really going to like the fleet and my first experience was a one off.
